Forget any pretext of social distancing when you board an airplane

Having recently flown back to the UK from the Middle East the notion that your safety is the airlines priority takes some believing. Social distancing was enforced entering the airport and temperature checks set up in the entrance areas and generally the 2m distance was adhered too by passengers in the check in line.

But at the departure gate the pretext of boarding with social distancing is shown to be fictional, the usual mass free for all rush to the door, waiting in line to board the plane and onboard.

Every single seat was sold on the flight and it was business as usual for the rest of the flight, people waiting for the bathrooms, no cleaning materials in the toilets and toilet tissues running out mid flight.

So don’t kid yourself that any airline are caring about your safety beyond their flash social media adverts, the reality is expect the same as before this virus appeared. Every seat will be booked, the flights need to fly on time and you are going to pay for the privilege.

Disembarking was the same procedure in London, no temperature checks at all, uninterested immigration, baggage handlers wearing no masks and the only department interested in anything was the customs and excise officers.

This virus is now just another risk in life and you have a choice, fly or stay, but don’t listen to the government and airline propaganda videos, you need to make your own risk assessment in life.
