Another death by drowning in the Norfolk Broads National Park
Police, ambulance, fire service and rescue teams were all called to Loddon staithe at around 1.45am on Sunday following reports that a man was facing difficulty in the water after falling from his boat.
Police have confirmed that although he was rescued and transferred to hospital, he was later pronounced dead.
Inspector Steve Grant said: “We got the call at 1.39am this morning and got there within 10 minutes.
“The fire service and ambulance were also called to assist with the operation.
Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service sent appliances from Carrow and Loddon along with a rescue boat.
They confirmed that they were on scene for an hour and a half, leaving at 2.37am.
Another preventable tragic loss of life that wouldn’t happen if people wore life jackets whilst on the water, people fail to understand boats move around and the water temperature is so low this induces cold shock when a person fall in. How many more people will die this year?
