    Bose has officially announced SoundControl hearing aid- the first FDA cleared device which has been developed for adults with perceived mild or moderate hearing loss. Bose would start selling the hearing aids on May 18. The hearing aids will be initially available in five American states including Massachusetts, Montana, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Texas. The SoundControl is priced at $850.The company is yet to announce whether the hearing aid would be made available in other countries.
    Bose in a statement has said that the hearing aids would not require test, prescription or doctor visits. It can be easily paired with Bose’s newly launched Hear app, which will help users set up and customise the device at their convenience. The company claims that the setup can be done in an hour with “audiologist-quality results.” However, they cannot be used to listen to audio or make calls.

    Bose hearing aids feature a behind-the-ear, receiver-in-canal design. The device contains two microphones, one tiny speaker, and a standard 312 zinc-air battery. The company has claimed that the battery can last up to four days when used for 14 hours daily. Bose aids come with quick control features and are water-resistant. It can survive light exposure to rain or water Which would be a problem in areas with high rain fall.
